What are trace data or "log" files and how do I turn them on?
Trace data or more commonly referred to as log files, are files created by the agent desktop application to record connectivity information during your sessions.
This does not record your chats. These files are typically used by Velaro Technical Support people to help diagnose possible connectivity issues.
If you have been asked to turn on the log files this is how to do that.
1. Open the Velaro Agent Desktop application.
2. Click on Tools -> Options
3. In the options box, within the General tab, expand the area for "Log Information"
4. Select the checkbox to "Capture trace data" this needs to be checked for the application to capture your connectivity log.
5. Unless otherwise told to do so by a Velaro Technical Support person leave all other information at the default.
6. Click "Apply" and then "OK"
When you start the Velaro agent desktop application a log file will be created that you may send to support if asked.
If you need to access the trace data files to send to support do the following.
1. First exit the agent desktop so you can flush all data in memory to the log.
2. After re-starting the agent desktop, click Help -> View Trace Data
2. This will open a windows browser and you will be able to access the trace data files.
